Direct-to-garment printing works like an inkjet printer for clothing. Water-based inks are sprayed straight into the fabric, reproducing photographs, gradients and intricate artwork in unlimited colors. Because there are no screens to set up, DTG is ideal for one-offs, samples and small runs.

DTG vs screen printing

DTG is the clear winner for small quantities and complex artwork. For larger orders of simple one- to three-color designs, screen printing usually costs less per piece. Not sure? Send us your artwork and quantity and we will quote both.

Soft feel, eco-friendly inks

DTG inks are water-based and absorbed into the fibres, so prints feel soft and breathable rather than heavy. Results are best on 100% cotton or high-cotton blends in light and dark colors.

Artwork requirements

For the sharpest results, supply a PNG with a transparent background at 300 dpi at the final print size (for example, 12" × 14" for a full front). Our prepress team checks every file and will let you know if anything needs attention before printing.
