PHP is a server-side HTML embedded scripting language. It allows web developers to build complex dynamic websites. PHP is commonly used alongside the MySQL database system.

MySQL is an incredibly popular open source database and it has become the world’s most popular open source database because of its consistent fast performance, high reliability and ease of use.

MySQL has become the database of choice for a new generation of Internet applications built on the LAMP stack which consists of Linux, Apache, MySQL and commonly PHP. MySQL runs on more than 20 platforms including Linux, Windows and OS/X, giving a great deal of flexibility.
